Small Groups

Spiritual growth flourishes in small groups.

At Holy Covenant, small groups are where faith and friendships grow. These gatherings provide a space for deeper connections, meaningful discussions, and spiritual support. Whether you’re looking for Bible study, fellowship, or a place to share life’s journey, there’s a group for you. Come find your community and experience the power of doing life together in faith!

Groups typically meet on Sundays at 9:45 AM for fellowship, study, prayer, and reflection.

For help finding a group that’s right for you, contact Lisa Gill.

Sunday Mornings 9:45-10:45 AM

Good News: F-104, Fellowship Building

Searchers: F-101, Fellowship Building
The Searchers class is a community of believers dedicated to growing in faith, supporting one another in prayer, and serving God through generosity. Each week, we gather to discuss Scripture-based readings, pray for the needs of our members, and give back by collecting funds for a different non-profit Christian organization each month.

Journey: F-107, Fellowship Building
Journey is a diverse group of people united by a love for Christ and a desire to reflect His love in our daily lives. Together, we explore what it means to live out our faith through meaningful discussions, fellowship, and spiritual growth. No matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome here!

If you’re looking for thoughtful discussion, spiritual growth, and a caring community, we invite you to join us!

Pilgrims: S-105 (Choir Suite), Sanctuary Building
The Pilgrims Class is an eclectic group of believers who engage in open, discussion-based learning, exploring faith through the lens of Scripture and personal experiences. Rather than a lecture-style format, our studies are facilitated to encourage shared insights and deep conversations. Dedicated to strengthening relationships with one another and with God, we actively serve within the church and seek opportunities to make an impact in the Katy community and beyond. Join us as we journey together in faith, learning from each other and growing in Christ’s love.

While our personal circumstances may differ, we come together as equals, united by the impact of another person’s drinking or drug use. Al-Anon is a mutual support group where we find strength, understanding, and encouragement by sharing our experiences. Through this journey, we learn to focus on our own well-being, allowing those struggling with addiction to face the consequences of their actions. Families, friends, and observers are always welcome. Join us as we support one another in finding peace and healing.

Fall Adult Study Opportunities

Epic of Eden Jonah

Wednesdays
September 3 - October 15

When most people think about the book of Jonah, they think about a children’s story. Others think about a story they've heard so many times there could not possibly be anything new to learn from it. Well strap in, because this study is designed to prove all those assumptions wrong!

In the book of Jonah we find a professional holy man, a lifer in the faith who is about to have the God he thinks he understands challenge him with an assignment that he can hardly get his brain around. In The Epic of Eden: Jonah, Dr. Sandra Richter takes us on a journey through Jonah’s life that leads us all to the place where we realize that our God is way bigger than we thought. Not only will we learn everything we ever wanted to know about the brutal Assyrians of Nineveh, ancient seafaring ships, and large aquatic creatures, but we will also be challenged with the same message that confronted Jonah. Are we willing to let God be God, to move us out of our comfort zones, and embrace a calling that might just take us to the edges of the world we know?

There are two options for this study:
- a women's group on Wednesday mornings
- a group for everyone on Wednesday evenings with the option for childcare

If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Gill at lisa@hckaty.org. The cost for the study guide is $10. If you prefer a digital copy, Amazon does carry the study guide for Kindle. If you need financial assistance, just let Lisa know. Please register by August 14th so that study guides can be ordered and delivered before we begin.

Being Methodist

Wednesday Evening Study
October 1 - 22

Led by Pastor Fred Willis, this class is aimed at unpacking the essentials of Methodist belief and practice as taught by John Wesley. We are Christians first, but as members of Holy Covenant, we follow Jesus in a particular way. This class is an open invitation to all—whether you're newly exploring what it means to be part of our community or you've been with us for a while but wish to deepen your understanding of our shared Methodist journey. Requirements: Nothing but your presence, a Bible, and a notepad if you wish to take notes. There are no fees and no books required. Our sessions will focus on the historical backdrop, theological underpinnings, and the practical aspects of living out our faith according to the Methodist tradition. This is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and engage with the faith in a meaningful way.

Radicle Methodism

Wednesday Mornings
October 29 - November 19

Welcome to Radicle Methodism. For those of you with green thumbs, you may see the word “radicle” and know that it refers to a foundational part of a plant. The rest of you may think you’ve spotted a typo. In this study, we'll talk about root systems and what that has to do with Methodism and, especially, what it means to be United Methodist.

As we journey together through these radicle moments, it is our hope that your are reminded of (or discover for the first time) what it means to be United Methodist, to follow in our founders' footsteps and to be in connection with one another.

This class will be led by Lisa Gill, Director of Discipleship. There is no cost for the class and all materials will be provided. If you have any questions, please reach out to Lisa at lisa@hckaty.org.
