Thanksgiving Green Bean Drive: Help Us Feed 1,000 Families

Published October 21, 2025

As we enter this season of gratitude and giving, Holy Covenant is joining hands with other local churches to support a powerful initiative: providing Thanksgiving meals for 1,000 families in our community through the KCM Food Pantry.

We know that the holidays can be a time of joy for many, but for others, they bring added financial stress, uncertainty, and hunger. By working together, we can help make sure every family has a seat at the table this Thanksgiving.

Our Mission: 1,000 Cans of Green Beans

Holy Covenant has been asked to provide 1,000 cans of green beans—just one small part of the meal, but one that represents something greater. When we each contribute a can (or ten), we’re not just giving food. We’re giving dignity, comfort, and care to our neighbors in a season that’s meant to be shared.

This is a special outreach project and is separate from our monthly Market to Missions food drive. Both are vital—one supports long-term needs, the other meets a specific seasonal one.

How You Can Help

It’s simple: Pick up a few extra cans of green beans on your next grocery run and drop them off at the church. Collection bins are located in the Narthex and will be available through Tuesday, November 19.

Whether it’s a single can or a case, every donation helps us get closer to our goal—and brings a little more hope to someone else’s table.

Why It Matters

The families who receive these meals are facing real challenges. Some are between jobs. Others are working multiple jobs and still struggling to make ends meet. Some are elderly, some are single parents, and many have children who will remember Thanksgiving for the rest of their lives.

Let’s help make those memories warm, full, and joy-filled.

Thank You for Being a Church That Shows Up

Over and over, this congregation has proven that love looks like action. From Market to Missions to Thanksgiving meals, you are making a difference. We’re grateful for your faithfulness—and excited to see how God continues to use our church to meet the needs of our community.
