Seeking Front Office Receptionist for HCKaty - Your Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) is inviting interested parties to apply for our part-time front office receptionist position. As the first contact for Holy Covenant Offices, this person will exhibit enthusiasm, friendliness and a passion for welcoming and informing visitors, as well as in supporting the ministries and staff of Holy Covenant. The position is anticipated to require between 4 and 6 hours of work per day, Monday thru Thursday for the full calendar year. Student Ministry Summer Intern - Our Student Ministries is looking for a summer intern to assist in facilitating all youth activities and special events including weekly programming, events and communication with students, parents and parishioners. The ideal candidate would be a Junior or Senior in college, studying to enter youth ministry (though not required) and able to commit for the majority of the summer. Special Wednesday Night Encounter - Join us this Wednesday night for guest speaker, Dr. Afzaal Firdous, a UM Pastor in the Texas Conference and a native of Pakistan. He will give us a unique opportunity to hear about the church in Pakistan. There will be dinner beginning at 5:30pm.

Service of Prayer and Celebration - As part of the VCI process, we will be having a service of prayer and celebration next Sunday, April 30th. This will be a time for us to prepare ourselves for God’s vision for the future. The service will be led by a person selected by the Center for Congregational Excellence.

Lone Star Symphonic Band Concert - The next Lone Star Symphonic Band concert will be held Sunday, May 7th at 4:00pm in the sanctuary. The theme of the concert is The 3 R’s of Summer. Tickets are available online at

MAS Katy Center - We have been invited to visit and have lunch with some of the members of the MAS Katy Center, a local mosque, onSaturday, April 29th from 11:30-12:30pm. MAS is like a denomination of Islam in the US that seeks to grow relationships with all faiths around them. This is an opportunity to hear from the members about their faith. Parents Night Out - Our next Parents Night Out will be Saturday, May 13 from 4:00-8:00pm. Reservations are required so that we have adequate supervision for the children. Email to make your child’s reservation.

1) Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:00am to 3:30pm. We have a mission opportunity in our own backyard. A retired Katy ISD teacher is in need of some minor home repair. We will be replacing the fascia boards and painting the trim on the home. We ro to rz to help with this outreach ministry. Vacation Bible School 2017 - Hey kids - it's time to sign up for Vacation Bible School! The theme this year is Hero Central - Discover Your Strength in God! The dates are June 5-9th from 5:30-8:00pm. Cost is $10.00 per child ($20.00 after May 15th). There's loads of fun to be had, sign up today!

Wrapped in Love - We have several crocheted prayer shawls, baby and fleece blankets that are ready for delivery in gift bags in the workroom cabinet. If you have a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker who would appreciate one, feel free to take one for them. We ask only that you sign our sign out sheet so we can keep our inventory current and know who the recipients are to ensure there are no duplications.

Adult Mission Trip - July 2nd thru 7th, 2017 to UMCOR's Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA, assembling relief supply kits in the warehouse. Searching for Smiling Faces! - The church office and CDC are looking for friendly faces that can volunteer a few hours once a week or every other week to greet CDC visitors and late arrivals, help answer phones and assist church office, CDC, children's ministries and Youth ministries in preparation of materials as needed. Worsted Yarn Needed! - The Wrapped in Love ladies are asking for your help. They are looking for donations of worsted yarn. It takes about 12oz for a prayer shawl and 16oz for a baby blanket. They would appreciate your support as they begin a new season of knitting and crocheting beginning next Wednesday January 20th as part of the Wednesday Night Encounter Classes. Covenant Quilters - The Covenant Quilters are meeting again after a holiday break. Please join us to quilt, sew, visit and learn some new things.
